News: Bill Murray Hunt For Bill Murray Gets Closer

News: Top Comedians Make Mockumentary To Save Bill Murray Pub

The people behind the Bill Murray pub in Angel, Islington are attempting to contact comedian Bill Murray in the hope that he might visit the venue when he comes to London in June for a one-off performance.

Murray's forthcoming gig is on 4 June in London at the Royal Festival Hall, but it is not a comedy gig. He will be appearing alongside cellist Jan Vogler and together their performance "showcases the core of the American values in literature and music. A show that communicates the bridges artists have built between America and Europe. Twain, Hemingway, Whitman, Cooper, Bernstein, Gershwin and Foster are some of the strongest voices that influenced generations of humans in America and gave the world a picture of the charm, energy and creative force of the New World."

The Bill Murray team – it's where Angel Comedy puts on gigs – has been hoping Murray might grace the venue with his presence since it opened in 2016. While the pub has officially been named after William Murray (first Earl of Dysart and childhood whipping boy of Charles I) whose biography is displayed in the venue, the Angel Comedy team have made attempts to contact comic/actor Bill Murray explaining that their dream is to honour “someone important to us and who reflects the spirit of what we do.”

And now their dream has moved a little bit closer to becoming reality...

After the invite to the Caddyshack star was posted on Twitter, superfan Andy McHaffie tweeted it to Jan Vogler, who replied, saying that he would pass the letter onto Mr Murray.

Stay tuned for developments in the  story..,
