News: Bill Murray To Appear In UK – But It's Music Not Comedy

Comedy legend Bill Murray is to perform onstage in the UK later this year.

But his shows on this New Worlds Tour will be music-based rather than comedy shows. He will be appearing alongside cellist Jan Vogler in London and Edinburgh.

Murray and Vogler met during their travels and became friends in New York. Curious about each other’s artistic world and interests, the actor and the cellist soon had the idea to work together on a project.

Their performance "showcases the core of the American values in literature and music. A show that communicates the bridges artists have built between America and Europe. Twain, Hemingway, Whitman, Cooper, Bernstein, Gershwin and Foster are some of the strongest voices that influenced generations of humans in America and gave the world a picture of the charm, energy and creative force of the New World. "

The Caddyshack star’s love for classical music is reported to be "young and his art of language boundless."

The shows are on 4 June in London at the Royal Festival Hall and on 18 June in Edinburgh at the Festival Theatre.
