News: Simon Amstell To Be Part Of BBC Coverage Of Hay Festival

Comedian Simon Amstell will one of the performers featured as part of the BBC's coverage of the Hay Festival.

Amstell will be appearing at the literary festival to present his BBC directorial debut Carnage on June 3 in the run-up to the national tour of his latest stand-up show What Is This? which starts in September. Dates here.

Among other names appearing at the festival are US senator Bernie Sanders, Stephen Fry, Dr Who producer and writer Steven Moffat, screenwriter Jimmy McGovern, playwright Mike Bartlett and Radio 3 presenter Katie Derham.

More than 25 BBC TV and radio shows will be recorded on site - from BBC World News’ HARDtalk, Talking Books and Click to BBC Radio 4’s Front Row, Start the Week, and Broadcasting House, to BBC Radio 3, BBC Wales, and BBC Hereford and Worcester.

The Hay Festival runs from 25 May - 4 June. BBC Arts Digital launches coverage of the opening weekend with two days of live streaming, which Stephen Fry kicks off, while selective events will be available throughout the week on BBC iPlayer.
