News: New BBC Online Projects for Frankie Boyle, Matt Berry & More

Frankie Boyle
The BBC has announced a host of iPlayer exclusive programmes from comedians including Matt Berry, Frankie Boyle and Jo Brand, alongside new commissions from emerging British filmmakers, writers and performers.

On 5 April, Matt Berry kicks off his brand new topical comedy series Matt Berry Does… for iPlayer, with Matt Berry Does.. The Boat Race - an anthropologic look at the Oxford/Cambridge boat race. This is the first of six shorts which Berry will make for iPlayer following his previous hits Lone Wolf and Wild Love.

Following the hugely successful Scottish Referendum Autopsy comedy event for iPlayer last year, which attracted over 715k requests, Frankie Boyle is returning to take centre stage in his Election Autopsy in May.

Jo Brand has today been announced as the host of BBC iPlayer’s next Private View on Grayson Perry at Turner Contemporary, which will go out in May.

And following the success of iPlayer's Funny Valentines comedy shorts featuring comedians including Bill Bailey, Romesh Ranganathan, Sara Pascoe, Limmy and Nick Helm, which have had 1.3m requests so far, the BBC has announced that 2016’s day of romance will see Funny Valentines return for a second series. Comedians involved to be announced.
