Geoff Norcott is certainly busy at the moment. He's on the final pre-Brexit Question Time on BBC One on Thursday, January 30 and then he is on The Last Leg on Channel 4 on Friday, January 31. Nice to know Brexit is helping at least one person's career!

Classic Interview: Terry Jones

In 2014 I interviewed Terry Jones for Reader's Digest. The piece coincided with an exhibition at the British Museum that historian Jones was speaking at. But maybe of greater importance, it had just been announced that Monty Python shows were to take place at the 02 Arena. Jones was probably the most affable interviewee I have ever encountered.

Interview: Nick Helm by Brian Donaldson

Always a man who likes an incendiary show title, Phoenix From The Flames represents Nick Helm’s return to something like his old self. Interview: Foil, Arms & Hog By Veronica Lee

Sean Finegan, as befits his status as the straight man in the Irish sketch group Foil Arms and Hog, is the spokesman for the trio off stage. It makes life easier for us to speak directly, he says, adding drily: “Otherwise I might say something witty and you'd attribute it to one of the other guys.”

We chat about their latest show, Swines, which is touring the UK after a sell-out season at the Edinburgh Fringe, but first Finegan explains how the trio met and got their distinctive name.

Interview: Paul McCaffrey

Paul McCaffrey can still remember the first successful comedy routine he wrote, even though it was over a decade ago. “It was about cash machines and how frustrating it was when you were queuing to use one.”

It went down so well at his early gigs he ended up doing it a few years later on television on Russell Howard’s Good News.
