Tommy Tiernan

News: Tommy Tiernan Tour Dates

Irish comic legend Tommy Tiernan is back on the road again with a new show entitled Paddy Crazy Horse. He rants and raves, he dances and acts. He tries to be very silly and very serious at the same time.

Can you explain a bit about the backdrop and time of which Derry Girls is set….

News: Casting For New Sitcom Derry Girls Including Tommy Tiernan

Casting has been announced for new Channel 4 comedy, Derry Girls. Currently filming on location in Northern Ireland, the series is written by acclaimed writer Lisa McGee (Indian Summers, London Irish, Being Human) who has mined her own experiences to create a candid, one-of-a-kind comedy set against the spectre of The Troubles.

Interview: Rarely Asked Questions – Tommy Tiernan

Tommy Tiernan really does need no introduction. He is a Perrier Award winner, he appeared in one of the greatest-ever episodes of Father Ted and, well, you should just go and see him, simple as that. He is bringing his powerhouse show Out of The Whirlwind to the Fringe this year. When I saw a version at the Soho Theatre it had everything – stories, gags, loud bits, quiet bits, angry bits, insightful bits, controversial bits, twinkly bits.

Live Review: Tommy Tiernan, Soho Theatre

Update 23/6/15. Following his successful London run - see the review below – Tommy Tiernan has just added two major London shows as follows. .

News: Big Festival For England's Smallest City

Tommy Tiernan, Mark Watson and Nick Helm have been confirmed as the headliners for a three-day festival in Wells in Somerset to celebrate 10 years of the county’s Long Paws Comedy Club

Comics playing the festival from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 May also include Edinburgh Comedy Award-winner Tim Key, co-host of Radio 4’s Infinite Monkey Cage Robin Ince, Never Mind the Buzzcocks favourite Paul Foot, comedy maverick Simon Munnery and many more.

Comics Have A Second Crack At Mount Everest

A group of stand-up comedians is going to attempt to perform a gig on the world’s highest mountain in October 2015. This follows plans to do the Everest gig last year, which had to be postponed.

Among those confirmed for the gig of a lifetime are Tommy Tiernan, Glenn Wool, Craig Campbell, Rhys Darby and Stewart Francis. If they succeed they hope to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the highest ever comedy show.

Opinion: Critic's Notes – Audience...Again

After the annoying chatty fan at Tommy Tiernan the other week there was another audience irritant at Seann Walsh last night at the Soho Theatre. Just over half-way through Walsh's set the shaggy-haired star asked someone in the front row if they had a personal hangover cure. Instead of simply answering the question, "Joe" started to embark on an impromptu mid-performance speech.

Opinion: The Wrong Kind of Audience Participation

Tommy Tiernan had one of those people in last night at the Soho Theatre. You know, the ones who insist on interrupting your seamless routine and think that they are helping you out. I think she said she was from Lettermore, though after a while I began to think that she wasn't even sure where she was from herself.
