Taskmaster
The final episode of the Taskmaster Champion of Champions has been broadcast tonight on Dave.
And the winner is... Josh Widdicombe.
Widdicombe beat the other four winners of previous series of the show overall after various challenges. The quintet of winners were Rob Beckett, Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Noel Fielding and the most recent victor, Bob Mortimer who helped to secure his triumph by getting into the boot of his car and cuddling Alex Horne.
The date has been revealed for the Taskmaster Champion of Champions special edition.
The first of two shows will be broadcast on Dave on December 13 at 9pm. The second show will follow at the same time on December 20.
Bob Mortimer is the winner of series 5 of Taskmaster, which concluded on Dave on Wednesday night.
He triumphed over fellow comics Aisling Bea, Sally Phillips, Mark Watson and Nish Kumar.
RTS Futures has teamed up with the creators of Avalon’s hit UKTV comedy game show, Taskmaster, to offer the ultimate masterclass in bringing ideas to TV.
The problem about making more than one episode available to view online before a series has aired is that idiots like me might not watch the show in the right order. That's why I posted a review of the second episode and not the first one earlier today. The Brucie bonus is that I was able to watch a second edition of this hugely enjoyable series today before it airs on Dave as well. Hardly a chore.
Is Taskmaster the best show on Dave? It certainly seems to be the most talked about among my comedy-fan friends. And perhaps that’s not surprising given the calibre of guests it attracts. This fifth series boasts Bob Mortimer, Sally Phillips, Mark Watson, Aisling Bea and Nish Kumar.
BAFTA-nominated UKTV Original Taskmaster will bring together all five of the show’s series champions for the ultimate battle in a brand new two-part special, Taskmaster Champion of Champions, airing on Dave later this year.
The Horne Section take their show back on tour from the 8th September to 30th May 2018, including a return of their Soho Theatre residency in London.
This is where music and comedy collide, creating a show packed with brass-based fun. Expect toe-tapping tunes on weighty issues such as beards, caveats and Scottish widows.
The fifth series of Taskmaster has changed its broadcast date. Contrary to what you might see on some social media posts it now begins on Dave on Wednesday 13th September, presented, as ever, by Greg Davies. The latest competitors will be set a multitude of bewildering new assignments with the capacity to inspire both rank incompetence and utter genius.
