Rob Kemp
Comic Rob Kemp has picked up three trophies at the Midlands Comedy Awards. He wins Breakthrough Act, Best Alternative Act and Best Live Show. Kemp dominated the list of nominees this year, getting recognised in six of the ten categories, mainly due the success of his hit Elvis Dead show. Kemp is the first act to win three awards in the same year.
Cult Edinburgh Fringe hit Rob Kemp: The Elvis Dead is coming to London.
The show, in which Kemp acts out the plot of horror movie The Evil Dead II while impersonating Elvis Presley, will transfer to the Soho Theatre with dates there between Nov 14 and January 20, 2018.
Some performances will be special late-night events. In Edinburgh it was a midnight show at the Monkey Barrel venue and attracted a huge following. Fans included Dara O Briain who called it "an insane and brilliant show."
