News: Njambi McGrath Receives Writing Award

Comedian and writer Njambi McGrath has received an award towards funding her work. 

McGrath has been awarded a John C Laurence Award. This grant, which comes via the The Society of Authors  and  the Authors’ Foundation, offers funding to works, of any genre, which help to improve understanding between races.

Her memoir 'Through The Leopard’s Gaze' is to be made in to a six-part comedy/drama by Expectation, who made the BAFTA-Award winning show In My Skin.

News: Njambi McGrath Series Commissioned By Radio 4

Comedian/writer Njambi McGrath is to make a series for Radio 4. The four-parter will be based upon her hit 2019 Edinburgh Show ‘Accidental Coconut’ and will be produced by Richard Melvin of Dabster Productions.

Dabster have previously made shows for Radio 4 including Rosie Jones - Box Ticker, Suggs Love Letters To London, Fred At The Stand & The John Moloney Show.

News: TV Deal For Njambi McGrath

BAFTA-award winning production company Expectation Entertainment has optioned comedian Njambi McGrath's debut novel 'Through The Leopard’s Gaze' to be made in to a six-part comedy/drama series.

Expectation's Nerys Evans & Charlie Leech who are behind the BAFTA-Award winning show In My Skin will be heading the project. The book is a raw and powerful memoir that traces the author's journey from her erratic and disturbing upbringing in Kenya to her outwardly settled London life.

News: New Act of the Year Results

Comedian Njambi McGrath has been chosen as 'top of the bill' at this year's New Act of the Year competition.

Eamon Goodfellow was second and Mad Ron aka Steve Lee, was third.

The comedians were among the 15 finalists at the Hackney Empire. The full list of finalists is below. The event which was dedicated to comedian Jeremy Hardy, who died on Friday.
