News: John Cleese Recreates I Look Down On Him Class Sketch

John Cleese has recreated the classic sketch in which he plays an upper class gent who looks down on the middle and lower classes.

In the original sketch, first broadcast on The Frost Report in 1966 and written by Marty Feldman and John Law, Cleese appeared with Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett. In this new version he co-stars with comedian Ian Stone and actor John Alford.

News: Andrew Sachs Dies

Andrew Sachs, the actor who will always be known as Manuel from Fawlty Towers, has died. He was 86.

Reports say that he had been suffering from dementia and died in a care home.

Sachs had a long career and in recent years had appeared in Coronation Street and Casualty. In 2008 he became embroiled in the scandal that became known as Sachsgate when Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross left a rude message on his answerphone.

News: John Cleese Hits Out At Faulty Show

John Cleese has hit out at Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, the unofficial homage to the legendary TV series written by Cleese and Connie Booth. In an interview he has talked about taking legal action.

He has described the show, by the Australian company International Interactive Theatre, which has been running around the world since 1997, as “brazen, utterly shameless”.

News: John Cleese Brings Back Basil Fawlty

John Cleese has brought bonkers hotelier Basil Fawlty back to life.

His first new appearance onscreen nearly 37 years after the last BBC series of Fawlty Towers aired in 1979 will be in a new Specsavers advert which will air in January.

In the advert Cleese recreates the famous scene in which he gives his broken-down car a "damn good thrashing". Except that due to his lack of efficient glasses he gives the wrong car a damn good thrashing.

News: Piers Morgan Miaow, John Cleese Touché

John Cleese has become embroiled in a Twitter tit-for-tat with Piers Morgan. The veteran comedian and the journalist/talk show host recently dined in the same New York restaurant on separate tables and afterwards Morgan wrote a column about the incident in the Mail on Sunday.
