Britney

Edinburgh Fringe Review: Britney, Friends And Nothing More, Pleasance Courtyard

If you have your finger firmly on the comedy pulse you should know Charly Clive and Ellen Robertson from their excellent BBC Three one-off which dramatised the story of how they became friends as children and how Clive dealt with the diagnosis of a brain tumour. They are clearly destined for big TV things, but in the meantime there's this inventive sketch show which again touches on their close childhood friendship but skates past the brain tumour bit.

Review: Britney, BBC Three/iPlayer

There was a show at the Soho Theatre a few years ago that I was keen to write about but found difficult to get a commission because it was one of those odd shows that straddled comedy and drama, sketch and play. That was Fleabag. Britney falls very much into the same category. It got great reviews but not a huge amount of coverage as a stage event and now it has made it onto TV with a one-off pilot. Miss it at your peril. It's bloody brilliant.
