Chris McCausland Wins Strictly

As widely predicted, comedian Chris McCausland has won this year's Strictly Come Dancing along with his dancing partner Dianne Buswell.

McCausland, who was the long-running show's first blind contestant, impressed both the judges and the public, who voted for him.

He said after the victory that his win was for Dianne "and for everyone out there who's got told they couldn't do something or thought they couldn't do it...It just shows with opportunity and support and determination, anything can happen."

The final of this year's Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year competition has taken place at, yes, the Leicester Square Theatre.

The compere was Amy Gledhill and fourteen acts competed in the final.
