News: Amused Moose Laughter Award 2013

amused Moose

The third Amused Moose Laughter Awards, supported by 2entertain, launches today. The London club will be searching for the best show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the winner will receive £5000 towards the development of their comedy career, a commercial standard promotional DVD filmed at the Soho Theatre, a potential DVD deal, extensive promotional and development opportunities and a trophy.

This award differs from others in that instead of judges initially seeing their entire show live, entries are invited to submit their show on film. The ten best shows selected by the judges will then be asked to perform part of their show at the final on the afternoon of August 18th. To be eligible you must be in the current Edinburgh Fringe programme/website.

The award is one of a veritable plethora of Edinburgh awards but is growing in stature. Unlike the Foster's Award which does not ask for entrants, performers can opt out of this one by simply not sending in a clip. Tony Law was the winner in 2011 and has gone on to great things, while Marcel Lucont was victorious in 2012.
