News: Jason Manford Launches Online Stand Up Club With A Difference

Comedian Jason Manford is launching an online stand up comedy night. The Weekly Stand Up will launch on Thursday, June 25 at 8pm, and is set to run for the next eight weeks. He is aiming for it to be a Covid/Boris/Brexit-free zone.

Manford says "it will be silly and daft and hopefully a solid hour where you can just forget about everything else going on in the world. We’re gonna be a place that tries its best to Covid/Boris/Brexit free. We’ll keep it up till midnight Friday in case you’re busy on Thursday but do your best to catch it live.

There’ll be comedy, chat, and general daftness. I’ll be looking at some funny stories from around the world and playing ‘Top Tired or Not Tired’ the game show with prizes to be won.

We have stand up from the hilarious Dana Alexander & Tez Ilyaz, Martin Mor will dazzle us with his ‘31 amazing tricks in 4 minutes!’, Mick Ferry will be doing his 2 minute interviews, genius musical improv group ‘The Noise Next Door’ will he messing about with our VIP Front Row, and Rob Brydon will be popping in for a chinwag."

Manford has not been idle during the lockdown. As well as helping to homeschool his large family he has also helped out with deliveries for Iceland and has been presenting his regular Sunday morning show on Absolute Radio (pictured).

Tickets for the online stand up gigs will be £4.50 and there are season passes available for £25.50. Buy here: https://www.theweeklystandup.co.uk/?reqp=1&reqr=
