Former Prime Minister Tony Blair's sister-in-law is to perform a show at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer about becoming a muslim, tracing her journey "from hedonism to Hajj".

Lauren Booth, who is Cherie Blair's half-sister, is planning to leaflet mosques all over the UK to persuade Muslims to go to the Edinburgh Festival. She is quoted in the Scotsman as saying: “If you could get a coach load of Muslims every day it could change the demographic of the Fringe.” 

Booth became a Muslim over a decade ago and has campaigned for Stop The War against military intervention in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Her father was the late actor Tony Booth, who played the son-in-law of Alf Garnett in the long-running sitcom Til Death Us do Part. 

The one-woman play is based on her autobiography Finding Peace In The Holy Land. In it she talks about encouraging  celebrities to support Tony Blair, before becoming disillusioned with his foreign policy stance.
