News: Comedian James Miller Dies

Beyond The Joke has heard the sad news that comedian James Miller has died.

Miller was a regular performer on the comedy circuit in the 1980s and 1990s when he worked under the name of James Macabre and had a dry, offbeat sense of humour. He was also involved in setting up the influential Meccano Club in north London in the mid-1980s. He was a close friend of Jo Brand and worked with her when she was breaking through with her Channel 4 series, Through The Cakehole.

No further details have been released at this stage but BTJ understands that his death was sudden and unexpected. He was 58 and died in Hebden Bridge.
