News: Why Baddiel & Skinner Didn't Sing Three Lions Live During The World Cup

Comedian Frank Skinner has revealed why he and David Baddiel didn't sing Three Lions live onstage during the World Cup.

They were invited to perform the football anthem, which recently returned to the top of the charts, in Hyde Park when the England versus Croatia semi-final was being screened. The Lightning Seeds, featuring the song's co-writer Ian Broudie had agreed to perform in from of the packed open air audience of hopeful England fans.

But David Baddiel preferred to spend the evening at Skinner's home in Hampstead watching the match on television with his former housemate. "David had got it into his head that watching it on my sofa was lucky. And then we lost." Skinner said.

Skinner also confirmed that his long-running TV hsow Room 101 has been axed by the BBC. He joked that the BBC's Director of Content Charlotte Moore was asked what she would like to put in room 101...

The Black Country comedian was appearing on Radio 4's Loose Ends to discuss making his Edinburgh debut as a playwright in August. More details here.
