News: Late Arrival At Edinburgh Fringe For Barry Award Winner

This year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival Barry Award winner Sam Campbell is to come to the Edinburgh Fringe with his acclaimed show The Trough.

Campbell is the latest winner of the Australian award won by Hannah Gadsby in 2017. Gadsby went on to be joint winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award.

The Sydney absurdist is also the mastermind behind ‘Nippers of Dead Bird Bay’ a short series commissioned by Comedy Central Australia. Sam also starred in the web-series Dayne’s World, featured on The Checkout on ABC and is part of the YouTube collective Skills in Time.

His live shows have been huge hits. In 2016 Zanzoop – Feeble Minds took home the Directors Choice Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. This followed the success from the previous year with his debut live show Cambo’s on Top, which won the Best Newcomer award at the 2015 Sydney Comedy Festival. He was also invited to do a TedX Talk, ‘Growing Up in Australia with This Body’.

The show will feature multimedia and an actual snake.
