News: Stewart Lee To Do Old Set Supporting Old Band

Stewart Lee is planning to dust off some of his old material to support veteran Birmingham indie band The Nightingales on tour this autumn.

Lee will be appearing with them on seven nights doing his 20-minute club set from Thusday September 20. The gigs will be in Oxford, Bristol, Portsmouth, Birmingham, London, Cambridge and Brighton.

The Nightingales were formed by Robert Lloyd after his punk band The Prefects split up. Comedian Frank Skinner answered an ad looking for people to be in The Prefects but it is not clear whether he ever actually performed with the band according to this story.

Lee has also confirmed that the filmed version of Content Provider will be aired by the BBC. It was filmed in Southend by the team who made the BBC2 series Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle and Lee says the style will be similar with filmed inserts etc.

Tickets fo the live shows are on sale here.
