News: Comedy Super Fans Attempt Epic Cycle Ride To The Edinburgh Fringe

Comedy super fans David and Carole Chapple are attempting a marathon cycling/gigging trip on the way to the Edinburgh Fringe this year.

In 2014 David set the Guinness World Record for most shows seen in a season of the Edinburgh Fringe.

In 2017 they did 70 stunts through the year for Mind. There is more about that here.

This year we are being more ambitious and are cycling to the Edinburgh Fringe from their home in Saltash in Cornwall over 12 days. This distance is 686 miles. And they also plan to go to a comedy gig every night on the way.

They are doing the trip from July 25 to August 5 to raise money for mind and you can sponsor them here.

If all goes to schedule their shows on the way will include:

Day 1 - Stu Goldsmith and Jim Tavare at Komedia, Bath.
Day 3 - Markus Birdman and Louisa Omielan at The Comedy Box, Bristol.
Day 5 - Rhod Gilbert and Lloyd Langford at The Cookie in Leicester.

When they arrive in Edinburgh they plan to see Laura Lexx and will be collecting at the gig. And after that a work in progress from Russell Howard.
