Comedian Jason Manford has written a short film mixing laughs and scares.

That's The Spirit will be broadcast later this year as part of a Halloween-themed season on Sky One.

The Salford-born stand-up will also star in the story about two teenage children who use a ouija board to contact the ghost that haunts their house. Manford plays their father and Rebecca Callard will play Manford's wife.

Imogen Gurney and Brenock O'Connor will play the children.

Rebecca Callard previously worked with Jason Manford on the BBC series Ordinary Lies when her character had a fling with his character.

Viewers can expect a mixture of heartwarming humour and spooky moments too. Filming starts next week.
