News: Soccer Stunt at FIFA Conference

Comedian Simon Brodkin, better known as Lee Nelson, managed to get to the front of the FIFA press conference today. He made a quick speech and showered President Sepp Blatter in $600-worth of bank notes before being led away.

Just before he was escorted offscreen he said something about the money being for the World Cup in North Korea in 2026. Blatter responded by saying "this has nothing to do with football" and postponed the press conference until the table was cleared up.

This time Brodkin was in the guise of his footballing character Jason Bent.

The prank follows his stunt at Glastonbury recently when he managed to join Kanye West onstage. Last November he gatecrashed the X Factor stage during a performance by boy band Stereo Kicks. He has previously appeared on the football pitch with the Manchester City team in the warm-up for a game with Everton and almost made it onto the England football team's bus dressed as one of the players before the 2014 World Cup.
