From February 9th to 25th, audiences anywhere will be able to watch Leicester Comedy Festival, the UK’s biggest pure comedy festival, via streaming service NextUp.
Described as the ‘the Netflix of UK stand-up’, NextUp is available on web, mobile and smart TVs worldwide - bringing the Leicester Comedy Festival to more people than ever before.
NextUp have curated 10 incredible shows to live stream direct from festival venues, including The UK Pun Championships MCd by Jason Byrne, the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2024 hosted by Sindhu Vee and An Asian Occasion hosted by Rahul Somia. Solo shows streaming to NextUp include Marcel Lucont's ‘Cabaret Fantastique’ and Tom Houghton’s ‘It's Not Ideal’. Additionally NextUp will be streaming the three ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ late shows on Friday, with fantastic acts appearing across the month including: Katie Pritchard, Pravanya Pillay, Shelf, Kev Mud, Tony Law, Adele Cliff, John Meager, Stephanie Laing, Tadiwa Mahlunge, Eshaan Akbar, Patrick Monahan, Charlie George, Eddie Mullarkey, Alex Hylton, and Sarah Keyworth.
NextUp producer Amy Williams says: ‘Leicester is such a great festival. We’ve tried to curate a programme with something for absolutely everyone, from puns and one liners to raucous late-night shows - if you can’t make it to Leicester in person, NextUp will definitely be the next best thing.’
NextUp and Leicester Comedy Festival began their collaboration in 2021 when the festival had to migrate completely online and NextUp were awarded the coveted LCF Award for ‘Contribution to LCF’ and things have only got better from then!
Access to NextUp, which includes Leicester Comedy Festival (as well as Edinburgh Fringe Festival, regular live streams from 10 venues UK-wide and over 300 recorded comedy specials), is currently £48 per year.
