Is This Stewart Lee's First Ever Joke?

Was Stewart Lee's first-ever joke to be broadcast on television aired on the children's television programme Tiswas when he was barely a teenager?

A clip has surfaced of an episode of the show from September 19, 1981, in which presenter Sally James reads out jokes sent in from viewers as part of a competition and one of them is from a "Stewart Lee from Solihull". According to Wikipedia Lee grew up in Solihull and went to school there.

The jokes were sent in in response to the question "Who is Mr X?" and the winner would receive a copy of the latest Ultravox album, Rage In Eden. Mr X was a track by the band.

The joke sent in by 'Lee' can be heard at around the 20 minute point in the clip below and is as follows: "Mr X was the cross-eyed son of Picasso that does Adam Ant's make-up or the real owner of Trevor McDonald's voice or the irate father of the shoeshine boy whose brush was stolen by Midge Ure to use as a moustache."

Lee was a comedy fan from an early age. He has said that seeing comedian Ted Chippington supporting The Fall in 1984 made him want to be a stand-up.

Update: Beyond The Joke has reached out to Stewart Lee's team who have confirmed that he was indeed the Stewart Lee from Solihull
