The Comedians' Choice Awards Return to Edinburgh Fringe With London Showcase In October

The Comedians' Choice Awards - the only Edinburgh Fringe prizes determined solely by performers - are back at the festival.

All 1,970+ comedy shows performing at this year's Fringe are invited to vote to determine the winner of the three annual prizes - Best Show, Best Performer, Best Person. Every person and show is eligible.

The voting form (https://www.comedy.co.uk/fringe/comedians_choice/) is open now and closes at noon on Wednesday 24th August. The winners will then be surprised at the end of their shows with a presentation of a trophy, designed especially for the competition by inventor John Ward.

Aside from the kudos of winning, for the first time this year, the top 10 shows with the most votes will be invited to take part in a special Comedians’ Choice showcase season at London’s Museum Of Comedy in October, with each act receiving a split of ticket sales.

David Hardcastle from the venue says: “We're very excited at the Museum Of Comedy to be showcasing a season of the best shows at the Fringe as chosen by the people who know comedy the best - the comedians."

As an additional bonus, streaming platform NextUp Comedy will be on hand at a number of the nights at the Museum Of Comedy to record the shows for posterity, with the performer receiving a revenue share from the platform.

The Comedians' Choice Awards are administered by British Comedy Guide. Recent winners include Joz Norris, Laura Lexx, Paul Currie and Lou Sanders. For more information on the awards visit https://www.comedy.co.uk/fringe/comedians_choice/
