Dave Launches New Stand Up Show With Jamie Demetriou, Natasia Demetriou, Ellie White, Cardinal Burns, Arnab Chanda, Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen

BBC Studios Signs Up Jamie Demetriou To Make More Comedy

Live At The Moth Club (5x60’) is a brand new UKTV Original series commissioned for Dave from Baby Cow Productions. The series is set at the iconic Moth Club in Hackney and will be crammed full of cinematic sketches and live performances from the Moth Club’s all-star comedy collective including Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats, pictured), Natasia Demetriou (What We Do In The Shadows), Ellie White (Stath Lets Flats) and Cardinal Burns (C4’s Cardinal Burns), Arnab Chanda (Pls Like), Ben Ashenden (The Bubble), and Alexander Owen (Dreaming Whilst Black).

Curated by the long-running Moth Club cast of character comedians, Live At The Moth Club will celebrate comedy from some of the UK’s most established comedians and emerging talent, all as you’ve never seen them before.

Live At The Moth Club is commissioned for UKTV by Mark Iddon, commissioning editor, and ordered by Cherie Cunningham, Dave channel director. Richard Watsham is director of commissioning for UKTV and Steve North is genre general manager, comedy and entertainment. Sarah Monteith and Rupert Majendie are the executive producers for Baby Cow with Mark Iddon as executive producer for UKTV.

Mark Iddon said, “Quite simply, the line-up of talent for this show is incredible. Capturing the unpredictable experience of a night out at The Moth Club whilst weaving a narrative around the venue and the people in it, is going to be something quite special. Admittedly it will also be completely bonkers… but special. A special kind of bonkers. We can’t wait to work with Baby Cow and this eclectic comedy collective and look forward inviting the Dave audience to a night Live At The Moth Club.”

Cherie Cunningham said, “I’m thrilled that we’ve got award winning comedians and friends, collaborating on a brilliant original and irreverent new show for the channel. This show lends itself to cutting edge comedy and so is set to be a proper comedy treat for Dave audiences.”

Rupert Majendie, head of development at Baby Cow, said “I’m so, so excited to be bringing together all the talent and fun moments I’ve experienced at The Moth Club as a live show for the last 7 years to TV. It’s amazing that Dave is backing an exciting and ambitious ensemble show like this, showcasing the best talent out there. I’m over the moon to be bringing this to screen.”

Sarah Monteith, CEO at Baby Cow, said, “Live at The Moth Club is a classic Baby Cow show. A collective of top comedy talent – new and established - playing together, bulldozing boundaries and creating a world of fun. And Dave is the perfect home.”

Live At The Moth Club is the latest UKTV Original series from UKTV for Dave following the recent news of Late Night Mash returning with Rachel Parris at the helm.  BAFTA-winning series Big Zuu’s Big Eats returns in the summer alongside scripted comedy Sneakerhead starring Hugo Chegwin

Live At The Moth Club will air later this year on Dave and UKTV Play.
