Jonathan Ross Show Guests – Including Russell Howard, Roisin Conaty

Jonathan Ross Show Guests This Week

On The Jonathan Ross Christmas Show, Jonathan is joined for festive fun and games by one of the country's best loved entertainers Bradley Walsh, the hilarious Roisin Conaty, award-winning comedian Russell Howard, and the 35 million record selling former X Factor winner Leona Lewis will be chatting and performing in the studio.

Russell Howard will be talking about his new netflix stand-up special Lubricant and the behind the scense documentary that accompanies it that shows how he coped with lockdown, doing gigs in laybys and car parks and wherever else he could get them. He even went thgough a long quarantine in New Zealand just so that he could do a few gigs there.

Howard also spent part of lockdown back in his childhood bedroom that he grew up in near Bristol so that there was no chance of him infecting his wife who is a GP and stayed in their house in north London.

Howard spoke to me about his lockdown experiences too for the Evening Standard: He had a shock when he went to watch a Euros match in a pub with his friends. He expected everyone to be watching England’s performance. Instead everyone was watching him and chanting “Russell, Russell, sing us a song”. His mates found it hilarious, but the 41-year-old superstar stand-up was dumbfounded.“I’d forgotten I was famous.”

Roisin Conaty, recently seen in the One Night In...documentary being too scared to go on the rides at Alton Towers with Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker, recalls working with Greg Davies on the hit C4 sitcom Man Down.

Meanwhile Bradley Walsh talks about being an opening act for a couple of Welsh supertsars:  “I used to open up for Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones. I used to use the entire stage… up and down…You had to keep 11,000 people entertained. You knew you were doing all right when the first few rows would stay."

The Jonathan Ross Show, Saturday, December 18, ITV, 10.35pm.
