Last Leg Guests – Jodie Whitaker And Darren Harriott

Departing Doctor who Jodie Whitaker and comedian Darren Harriott are the guests on The Last Leg this week.

they will be chatting to the usual team of Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker.

Harriott, who used to be part of the security team at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, where he later performed, is to join Sara Cox as co-host of a new series, Britain's Top Takeaways in 2022. It sounds like a dream job and Harriott agrees. He posted on FB: "I understand working on a show based around food is only going to double my 'Is he Ainsley Harriott’s son?' Google searches but I don’t care!"

Harriott had preciously appeared on TV panel shows including Live at the Apollo, 8 out of 10 Cats and  has also been on The Last Leg before. He also said of his latest job: “If there’s two things I love it’s takeaways and families, except at around 3pm on Christmas Day with all the relatives fighting over the remote control and that's when I'll be dreaming of ordering in a meal for one. Working on such a unique, fun show with the legendary Sara Cox and getting to know all the families was a personal highlight, I can’t wait for everyone at home to meet them.”

When I interviewed Darren Harriott him in 2018 his career was just starting to take off. He told me he was hoping to move out of his Wembley houseshare: “One room has a horrible smell. Nobody lasts more than three months in there. My girlfriend hates the house. My dream is to have my own fridge. With an ice compartment.”

What have been your favourite news tories to pop up this week? Send your #IsItOk tweets to @thelastleg before the show. We expect that they will be talking about Cop26 and, I don't know, a longshot, Geoffrey Cox, Boris Johnnson (not wearing a mask? flying to London from Cop26?) and #borisinahospital
