Simon Bird

TV Review: Everyone Else Burns, C4

I'd only recently watched post-apocalyptic drama The Last Of Us when I watched Everyone Else Burns and my first thought was, here we go again, you wait ages for something about the destruction of humanity and then two come along at the same time. Fortunately as we watch the hyper-religious David (Simon Bird) and his family doing a runner and heading for the hills it turns out to be a dry run and the end is not quite nigh after all. Same time tomorrow perhaps.

Watch Trailer For New Simon Bird Comedy Everyone Else Burns

Coming soon to Channel 4, Everyone Else Burns is an irreverent new six-part comedy set in a fictional Christian community and centred around a family headed by patriarch David (Simon Bird, with a very different haircut). David, like his family (played by Kate O’Flynn, Amy James-Kelly and Harry Connor) is devoted to preparing for Armageddon and avoiding eternal damnation, although worldly temptations sometimes get in the way.

Interview: Simon Bird Talks About The Inbetweeners Ten Years On

The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited airs New Years Day at 9pm on Channel 4

It’s ten years since The Inbetweeners first appeared on TV. How has it changed your life?

In lots of ways. I always wanted to perform comedy and be an actor. Before The Inbetweeners I assumed that was a pipe dream. As we were making The Inbetweeners I thought it was a pipe dream as well to be honest! We all thought it was such a tiny show and no one would watch it.
