Interview: Katherine Parkinson On Taskmaster 2020

Taskmaster moves from Dave to C4 for its latest outing. The format remains the same, with Greg Davies and Alex Horne setting comedians a succession of bizarre challenges.

This year's line-up is Daisy May Cooper, Johnny Vegas, Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring.

Theatre Review: Shoe Lady, Royal Court Theatre

I remember an old joke from when I was growing up, I think told by Bob Monkhouse or someone else from his generation. A hippy gets on a train wearing one shoe and a commuter asks "did you lose a shoe?". The hippy replies, "No man, I found one." This new play by EV Crowe reminded me of that long lost gag. How a single absent shoe can mean so much.

Kayla Meikle and Katherine Parkinson have been cast in the world premiere of Shoe Lady written by E.V. Crowe and directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone. With set design by Chloe Lamford, lighting design by Natasha Chivers, composition by Matthew Herbert, sound design by Tony Gayle and movement direction by Sasha Milavic Davies.

Following a run at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, IT Crowd star Katherine Parkinson’s debut play Sitting will have its London première at the Arcola Theatre.

Luke, Cassandra and Mary are sitting. They sit weekly for their portraits and, in a series of revealing sessions, end up sharing their funny and moving tales of love, longing and loss.

Comedian Frank Skinner and IT Crowd star Katherine Parkinson are among the four creative people who are stepping out of their comfort zone and writing their debut plays, which will then be produced for the Edinburgh Fringe. 

The other writers taking part in the scheme called Debut are journalist Bim Adewunmi and Emmy-nominated TV and film director  Beryl Richards.
