Comedian
Yorkshire’s most prestigious comedy competition is back for a fifth year and registration is now open for anyone who thinks they’re funny enough to be crowned Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year 2019.
The GYF New Comedian of the Year is again on the lookout for the best up and coming comedians from Yorkshire and beyond.
Comedy channel Gold is set to countdown Britain’s top funny people in a brand new one-off special. The UKTV Original Britain’s Greatest Comedian will whittle down a plethora of Britain’s brilliant comics from past and present to find the definitive top thirty.
The New Comedian of the Year Final has taken place at the Leicester Square Theatre.
Fifteen comedians competed for first prize. Previous finalists include Rob Beckett, Tim Shishodia, Jim Campbell, Ian Smith, Sofie Hagen and Funmbi Omotayo.
This year's winner is Mo Omar.
2nd runner up is Ali Woods
3rd runner up is Jack Gleadow.
