Improvising hip hop combo Abandoman has been forced to cancel a run of gigs in New Zealand after front man Rob Broderick injured himself during a show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Broderick is reported to have fractured his knee after falling from the stage. Promoter of Auckland venue The Classic Comedy Club Scott Blanks told stuff.co.nz that "doctors warned that if he continued to perform 'the knee might collapse on itself'."
Abandoman had been receiving rave reviews for their shows in Melbourne, including a five-star write-up in The Age.
Irishman Broderick is due to come to London with his group to perform at a show on May 23 at the 100 Club. Tickets here.
