Entries are now open for the inaugural Irish Comedian of the Year competition. The prize is €2000 and a trip to perform in Australia.

The competition is organised by the same people that run Scottish Comedian of the Year and English Comedian of the Year.

Heats will take place throughout Ireland in September including Dublin, Belfast Empire, Galway and Cork. There will also be a heat in London. 

The Final will be during the Vodafone Comedy Carnival at Galway Town Hall on Thursday 27th October.
