Russell Brand has been found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The judge, Mr Justice Bennathan, said: "You’ve been convicted of a number of offences including rape. The consequence of that is inevitably a significant custodial term. My current view is that I therefore have to remand you into custody."
The 51-year-old comedian and actor will be sentenced on Monday.
Brand had faced seven charges dating from 1999 to 2009 concerning six women. Three of rape, three of sexual assault and one of attempted indecent assault. He was found not guilty on three counts.
It has been reported following the verdict that Brand is being investigated over further rape allegations made by two women. The Memtropolitan Police said its investigation into the allegations "remains ongoing. The suspect has previously been interviewed under caution in connection with the allegations." Files have been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in relation to both complainants.
