Shortlist Announced for Takeover Radio 106.9FM/Nottingham Comedy Festival Joke of the Festival

The shortlist for the Takeover Radio 106.9FM / Nottingham Comedy Festival Joke of the Festival has been announced with five top jokes shortlisted from scores submitted. For the first time, a musical joke also made the shortlist.

Andy Bucks

·       My comedy dream is to get 5 stars from The Guardian. Ideally all in one go.

Chloe Reynolds

·       I changed my name to Chloe in February the year before last, so I really enjoyed my first Christmas as myself. Because it was the first one I didn’t get Lynx Africa.

Ashley Freize

·       (Musical) I don't think you should take equipment when you go out hiking. (click link below to here joke)

Luke Harrower

·       My big love is food. Something that still baffles me is organic food, because people say how much better it is to eat stuff you can get from your garden, but I don't know how to cook a sofa.

Angela Bra

·       Yesterday, a pupil in my class cheated at his homework by changing a subtraction symbol into an addition. I’ve let this kind of cheating slide before but this time he’s really crossed a line.

This is the second year that Takeover Radio, a youth community radio station based in Ashfield in northwest Nottinghamshire, has run the NCF Joke of the Festival.

All jokes submitted must be part of shows at the festival which started on 30 October and runs until Sunday 8 November when the winning joke will be announced, after gathering votes from the station’s audience.
