Turtle Canyon Comedy Launches Panel Show, Interview Series And Stand-Up Special On YouTube

Turtle Canyon Comedy is launching an exciting season of new series, specials and sketches on their YouTube with stars including Sindhu Vee, Sikisa, Alison Spittle, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Huge Davies, Marjolein Robertson and many more.

Most unexpected is the new panel show IS IT A BONE? hosted by Sam Lake and asking a line up of comedians to work out whether something is a bone or not. That’s the show. 2 comedians face off across 6 rounds, each one testing a different sense and with Sam helped by The BoneDropper - a mysterious, masked assistant. Six episodes will be released starting on 19th November featuring Alison Spittle facing off against Jordan Brookes (pictured left). The other five episodes will be released in the following three weeks.

The host Sam Lake (pictured middle) says: “I had no idea they were filming, just thought it was me hanging out with my friends and getting them to work out if things were a bone using only their six senses. That’s a fun day for me, the fact that it’s now a gameshow is a surprise.”

Contestant Marjolein Robertson said: “I can’t believe I took the entire bone into my mouth”

SIT DOWNS WITH STAND UPS is a long-form interview series where comedians interview comedians about their specials - asking questions that dig deeper and get more genuine answers than a standard PR circuit Q&A. Sindhu Vee gets interviewed by Stuart Laws, the director of her special Alphabet, Kiri Pritchard-McLean is interviewed by Adam Drake, who directed her live tour shows and Pierre Novellie sits down with Milo Edwards so they can grill each other about their respective specials.

TC's head honcho Stuart Laws explains why he wanted to make the show: “Only another comedian or director knows the unexpected, deep questions to ask a colleague to get the best and funniest answers. I directed Sindhu Vee’s brilliant special Alphabet and knew how much of a story there was behind the show, the filming and what it meant to her so the fact that the interview is very funny, but also emotional, showcases the breadth of work that goes into making a special.”

A huge addition to the release schedule is SIKISA - LIFE OF THE PARTY - the acclaimed stand up comedian’s first ever special is out on December 21st. It’s hilarious and Turtle Canyon Comedy are so proud to present it and to then follow it with a Sit Downs with Stand Ups double episode with Sikisa talking about the special and her career. Rob Auton’s - The Time Show will be broadcast in a 24 hour long livestream on November 16th.

Stand up comedy from Aberystwyth will present a range of brilliant comics in association with Little Wander, there are new episodes of the chat show Under The Tweets along with a climate change comedy sketch show from the Warming Up collective and full video episodes of the podcast Ghastly Women with Esther Manito & Lily Phillips and Week Minded with Stuart Laws & Daman Bamrah. That’s a lot of good stuff.

The channel has been home to comedy from the last 10 years with multiple series of a James Acaster documentary, James and Ed Gamble’s food show Just Puddings, Ian Smith’s ode to his hometown Hope You Come Up Here, a sketch show collaboration with The Daily Tism, sitcoms, sketches, short films and formats starring Nish Kumar, Lou Sanders, Tom Allen, Suzi Ruffell, Joel Dommett, Birthday Girls, Eleanor Morton, Harriet Kemsley, Steen Raskopoulos, Aisling Bea, Kat Sadler, Jess Fostekew and many more.
