Ricky Gervais Breaks Italian Record

Ricky Gervais Breaks Italian Record

Ricky Gervais has set another record on his current worldwide ‘Mortality’ tour – this time for the biggest English-speaking comedy show in ITALY.

His sold out show on Thursday night (24th July) at the Unipol Forum Arena in Milan was his first ever live performance in Italy.

Gervais already holds the attendance record for English-speaking comedy shows in Spain, France, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and he is set to break the same record in the Czech Republic in October, when he plays Prague’s O2 Arena.

Of the new Italian record, Gervais said: “I still can’t believe I sell out arenas in my own country, let alone around the world. I’m over the moon, as we say in England.”

His previous show ‘Armageddon’ won a Golden Globe, was nominated for a Grammy and hit Number 1 on Netflix when it was released in December 2023. His show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on that ‘Armageddon’ tour broke the Guinness World Record for the highest grossing comedy show of all time, taking over £1.4m at the box office.

As ‘Mortality’ heads back to London in October and November this year, with a 14 night sold-out run at the Palladium, and three massive shows as the OVO Arena Wembley, it will once again be filmed for Netflix.

As Gervais has done with his previous tours, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity - £1.91 million was donated to worldwide animal charities at the end of his Armageddon tour in 2023.

Tickets for all upcoming UK dates are on sale here.
