News: Pam Ann Flies Into London

Pam Ann

Arm the doors, cross check and buckle up, the inimitable world-class air bitch, Pam Ann jets into the UK from March 21 2014 with her brand new show, Fly. Regional dates include Bournemouth, Salford, Glasgow and Belfast before landing in London’s West End for a five week run at the Leicester Square Theatre, beginning on March 26.

Iconic international air hostess to the stars, Pam Ann – the alter ego of Australian writer and comedian Caroline Reid – will hit the UK tarmac for the first time in two years since her sell-out first class tour in 2012.

Fly will take passengers on the flight of their lives from check-in to security, boarding and (hopefully) landing with high-class material and introducing special guests from Pam Ann’s Global Alliance, including cult classic Lily and nervous flier, Gloria.

Designer bag loving Lily, is a charming sweet Asian air hostess who tends to bend the truth on her heritage and background just to get through life. She has many children and once worked in the rice fields of Cambodia, before taking to the skies to find a better life for her and her family. Gloria from Qantas is a by the book air hostess with a fear of flying. Since Qantas have never had a crash she always thinks her next flight will be the ONE!

With enough chutzpah and insider knowledge to rival a Qantas CEO, no one – bar no one – does airline satire quite like Pam Ann. First, Business or buried up the back in ‘Cattle’, there is no part of air travel that Pam can’t negotiate. She literally has an air hanger filled with airborne commentary on the quirks of some of the biggest international airlines, as well as stereotypes commonly held about flight attendants everywhere.

Pam’s genius mix of camp, culture, humour and Pucci-clad fabulousness has seen her crew Elton John’s private jet, share a stage on a stadium tour of the UK with Cher, and count Madonna in her legion of cult-like dedicated fans worldwide.

Having travelled the world over and over, Caroline Reid has enough frequent flyer miles to transport a small country. She has sold out shows around the world from Poland, Germany, UK, Norway, Scandinavia, France, Ireland, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Finland and Dubai. Reid is currently writing and producing a Pam Ann documentary, and Pam was also renewed as the face of Skyteam London Heathrow Terminal 4 (www.skyteam.com). Pam’s USA tour continues in November, and she recently hosted the biggest passenger airline awards – the APEX Avion Awards – in California, which included top CEOs from Emirates, Delta, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America, Qantas, Tap, Ethiopian, Tam, Avianca and other global airlines.

Reid has headlined at the NY’s legendary Caroline’s on Broadway and in 2010 performed at the prestigious London Palladium, The Royal Albert Hall and sold out 2 shows at the 3600 seat Hammersmith Apollo – her largest solo audience to date.

In Australia, Pam Ann starred on her own television talk show, The Pam Ann Show on FOXTEL.  She also hosted the National Live broadcast of Mardi Gras 2009, airing in over 2 million households.  Among Pam Ann’s greatest hit are an advertising campaign and training videos for British Airways, the inclusion of her hit LIVE DVD  ‘Come Fly With Me’ on Qantas’ in-flight programming, and being the face of London’s Heathrow SkyTeam Terminal 4. Pam Ann also performed on their first ever JetBlue – Jet Pride flight, a first on a US carrier.

Most recently, Pam Ann was awarded the Icon Award by New York’s Get Out Magazine. Caroline, who lives in both New York and Los Angeles, is currently writing a Pam Ann movie, which is due for release in 2015.
