Daniel Kitson is to compere a major London benefit gig in aid of a charity fighting homelessness among young people. The gig will take place at the Palace Theatre on October 6. Also appearing are Stewart Lee, Katherine Ryan and Josh Widdicombe. The charity they are suppprting is Laughing Point, a fundraiser in aid of leading youth homelessness charity Centrepoint.

Revered comic storyteller and all-round comedy icon Kitson will also be joined by Tony Law and Sara Pascoe for the special gig. Tickets are now on sale, with money raised from the event going to support Centrepoint’s work in giving homeless 16 to 25-year-olds a future.

Laughing Point made its West End debut with a gig in February 2014 that was headlined by the stars of Channel 4’s hit panel show The Last Leg, Josh Widdicombe, Adam Hills and Alex Brooker, and also featured John Culshaw, Nick Helm, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee James Acaster and Mike Wozniak.

Josh Widdicombe said: "It is an honour to be doing a gig for a charity as brilliant and worthwhile as Centrepoint. It is a great bill and so I am a little annoyed I am performing as I would love to be in the audience."

Richard Utting, Head of Events at Centrepoint, said: “We’re very excited that so many fantastic comedians will be taking to the stage for us.

“It’s going to be a great evening of entertainment which will ensure homeless young people have the support they need to turn their lives around. We expect tickets to go fast, so grab your friends, family and colleagues and join us.”

Centrepoint work with 6,000 homeless 16-25 year-olds each year, providing not only a safe place to stay but also the vital support needed to tackle physical and mental health problems, access education or employment and learn vital life skills.

Tickets are priced from £8.50 - £31. The show starts at 7.30 pm. To buy tickets visit www.nimaxtheatres.com or call 0844 482 9676.
