It has been reported that veteran comedian Peter Goodwright has died. 

Goodwright will be remembered by many of a certain age as one of television's top impressionists in the 1960s and 1970s. He was a mainstay of the ITV show Who Do You Do? which also showcased the talents of Freddie Starr.

In a lengthy career Goodwright, born in Haslington, Cheshire in 1936, appeared in The Clitheroe Kid and Hancock's Half Hour. He was in the last ever radio episode of Hancock's Half Hour, playing an impressionist who used Hancock's voice without permission in a television advert. You can listen to the 1959 episode here.

More recently in the 1980s he worked with Harry Enfield in the spoof documentary Norbert Smith – A Life.

He also appeared in a number of Ray Cooney farces onstage including Run for Your Wife! with Les Dawson.
