News: Series Two of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK On Its Way And Doors Open For Series Three Casting

Following the success of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, BBC Three and World of Wonder are proud to help the nation by announcing that the long awaited series two of Drag Race UK is set to air on British screens in early 2021.

In addition, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and BBC Three are opening up the application process for series three today in search of yet another fine set of fabulous queens to compete in the Olympics of Drag.

RuPaul Charles, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton (pictured) and Alan Carr will all be returning to our screen for series two of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK due to air on BBC Three early 2021, bringing some much needed joy to the UK.

The second series will be even bigger than the first, with twelve queens battling it out for the title of the UK’s Next Drag Superstar over ten weeks.

Generating many memes, garnering huge critical acclaim, picking up numerous award nominations, and even breaking into the music charts with a top ten single, series one of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK triumphantly slayed for BBC Three, with a huge 15.6 million requests on iPlayer so far.

In the debut series, ten charismatic drag queens took on a myriad of challenges that tested their drag ability to the max. They showcased the best of British drag, and humour as they revelled in in the joy of the competition jostling shoulder pad to shoulder pad for a much coveted RuPeter badge, and the chance to be crowned as RuPaul’s very First Drag Race UK Superstar. The Vivienne took the title, with Divina De Campo and Baga Chipz taking runner up places, respectively.

The RuPaul's Drag Race franchise is available in 193 countries through network partners and World of Wonder's streaming service WOW Presents Plus. The series has a total of 19 Emmy wins, making it the Television Academy’s most-awarded reality competition show in history. In 2018, Drag Race became the first series to win Best Reality-Competition Program and Host in the same year, and the show had a repeat victory at this years' ceremony.
