News: DJ Pat Sharp Lets His Hair Down In New Book

News: DJ Pat Sharp Reveals All In New Book

Veteran DJ Pat Sharp is set to reveal all in his new memoir.

Re-Run The Fun: My Life As Pat Sharp, written with Darren Richman and Luke Catterson, tells Sharp's story in a distinctive mix of reality and not-quite-reality.

The synopsis says: "Re-Run the Fun is Pat Sharp’s long-waited memoir: a definitive work, which blends fact and fiction, that not only anatomises the cultural trends of the 1980s and 1990s, but also harks back to a time when life was purer and simpler. The book will guide the reader from a dingy Radio 1 studio to David Hasselhoff atop the Berlin Wall; from "Fun House" and the Twins to breaking up a fight between Damon and Liam at a (fun) house party; from presenting "Top of the Pops" to the time he suggested Geri Halliwell’s dress be a Union Jack; to masterminding (and acting as support) at the now-legendary Bros revival gigs."

Sharp said: "Although I’ve never heard of me, this book certainly sounds like a whole lotta fun—but it clearly lacks prizes!"

Publisher Andreas Campomar said: "Who doesn’t love Pat Sharp? The man deserves entry into the pantheon of great Englishmen for that hairstyle alone. Nevertheless, it’s time that the discerning public should understand what life as Pat Sharp has been really like: the euphoric highs, the despondent lows, the hair tips and, of course, the endless, self-congratulatory selfies."

Sharp has been a regular face on television since his days as a radio DJ. He has appeared on I’m a Celebrity, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Pointless Celebrities and many more shows. He hosted Fun House, the programme that saw contestants race through obstacle courses, from 1989 to 2000.

Re-run the Fun: My Life as Pat Sharp is published by Constable on November 5.
