News: Comedians Raise Money For Asthma UK

On November 24, 2019, comedian Sam Serrano's girlfriend's 15-year-old brother Martin Sullivan tragically passed away of an asthma attack. This was a huge shock and an enormous loss for the entire family. Serrano had planned to do a gig at Hot Water Comedy Club in memory of Martin but this had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Nevertheless, a number of comedians from the circuit pulled together and have made a compilation of comedy clips to raise money in Martin's Memory.

"Martin's Comedy Marathon" has been uploaded to Sam's youtube channel and features a plethora of different comedy styles from musical, to sketch, to live stand up clips from up and coming acts all across the UK. comedians who sent in clips include Mike Carter, Tom Mayhew, Andy Quirk, Adam Hughes, Sam Serrano, Silham Shazad, Ben Turner, Oli J Clarke, Henry Churney, Keith Wild and Jack Kelly.

"I'm really grateful for the work Sam and the other comedians have put in" said Rebecca Sullivan (Martin's older sister) "it really means a lot that people are keeping Martin's memory alive and I'm sure he would have loved what they produced."

Every 10 seconds a person in the UK is having an asthma attack and on average 3 people die from it a day. Asthma UK do brilliant work to fund world asthma research, improve the quality of care received by people with asthma, and are able to help thousands of people a year with their expert advice.
