News: Seinfeld Star Jerry Stiller Dies

Comedian and actor Jerry Stiller has died. He was 92. Reports say his death was not Covid19 related.

Still was best known to many comedy fans as Frank Costanza, the father of neurotic star George, who was played by Jason Alexander. Frank was famous for his calming mantra "Serenity now".

Stiller was well-established before Seinfeld as a comedy name in his own right, performing for many years in a double act with his late wife Anne Meara, who died in 2015. As well as appearing in Seinfeld he had a major role in the hit sitcom King of Queens.

In real life he was the father of comedian Ben Stiller, who broke the news on Twitter: "I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad."

In his long career Jerry Stiller also played Wilbur Turnblad in the film version of John Waters' comedy Hairspray.
