News: Comedy Central Announces Quarantine Comedy Shorts

Comedy Central has announced the commission of a brand new short-form series Comedians in Quarantine.

We may all be stuck at home, but guess who else is confined to the four walls of their living room with plenty of time on their hands? The whole comedy circuit.

Starring 10 comedians, who will each write, perform and self-tape sketches, stand up and their own isolation stories, this new series will plug straight into the comedians’ quarantines in the comfort (well, confinement) of their homes to keep us all entertained whilst in isolation.

The comedians will be producing a range of comedy, from their own quarantine stand-up sets, providing tips on coping in confinement, or cabin fever comedy sketches. The series will provide some much-needed laughter in lockdown, whilst also giving up and coming comedians the chance to showcase their talent to viewers.

Kerry Taylor, Executive Vice President, Youth and Entertainment Brands, Viacom CBS Networks International, said: “Comedians in Quarantine offers fresh, timely and innovative content to keep our audiences laughing and smiling during this difficult time. The show will not only give viewers some great content to view, but will also help support comics who may find themselves struggling during this period”

Comedy Central presents Comedians in Quarantine will launch this month on Comedy Central’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram platforms. Contributors to be announced closer to launch.
