News: Daniel Sloss Signs US TV Deal

Daniel Sloss

Comedian Daniel Sloss has signed a talent deal to create an untitled television pilot with chat show host Conan O’Brien’s Conaco production company for a major USA studio.

The deal has come through Conaco after JP Buck, the supervising producer of Conan O'Brien's show, saw Sloss live at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival and booked him on the spot for a December appearance. His American TV debut was so well received that Daniel was asked to return two months later, which led to his studio meetings and the subsequent deal. It has also led to Daniel landing a recurring role as part of the Conan cast.

The 23-year-old Scot started his comedy career when he was 16 and in his early days was encouraged by Frankie Boyle. Since then he has appeared on numerous UK TV shows including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Paul O’Grady Show (Daniel’s TV debut aged 18), Set List and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Daniel Sloss said “I am obviously utterly thrilled to have the chance to work with Conaco again. They were immensely supportive of me when I first went over to the United States with my stupid accent and misplaced confidence, so to get the chance to write a pilot script for them is something I'm looking forward to immensely.  This is something I genuinely never expected to be offered, so I'll try and not screw it up.”

He brings his latest show, Really...?! to the Edinburgh Festival from July 31 - August 24. Details here.
