He has spent some time away from clubs pursuing his love of acting, directing and writing, with credits including directing two dramas for BBC1’s Moving On series and the video for Billy Bragg’s Handyman Blues single. He also produced and directed Sky One drama Ragged, written by Andrew Lynch starring Ricky Tomlinson and Stephen Walters. Recent TV credits include Still Open All Hours, Murder On, Home From Home, Benidorm, Moone Boy - created and starring Chris O'Dowd for Sky One, and the BBC’s Mr Stink. He has done numerous appearances on QI, Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg and Celebrity Juice. Also appeared in the recent British Films Eaten By Lions and Tales From The Lodge.

A fantastic compere and long-time Just the Tonic friend, Johnny has been given free rein to try out new material in some of his favourite clubs and give fans the opportunity to see him as he works towards a brand new show. More dates and venues are being added. Fans can sign up to Just the Tonic newsletter to receive notifications wherever they are. Tickets for all gigs will go on sale on Friday at 10am from www.justthetonic.com

Darrell Martin, Just the Tonic Director, said: “I have been booking Johnny since 1996 and as far as I’m concerned, he’s the best comedian in the country. It’s great to be able to see him doing what he does best and what made him famous. I can’t wait.”
