News: American Remake for Refugee Comedy Home Directed By Ben Stiller

South Bank Sky Arts Awards 2021 – Nominations for Feel Good, Home And Ghosts

American broadcaster NBC is to make a pilot of Home, the Channel 4 comedy written by and starring Rufus Jones.

Deadline has reported that the adaptation will be written/executive produced by former Black-ish EP Stacy Traub and directed/executive produced by Ben Stiller.

In the version aired on C4, a British couple played by Jones and Rebekah Staton retrun from a holiday in Europe to find a Syrian refugee Sami (Youssef Kerkour) has smuggled themselves into England in the boot of their car.

In the American version Mark and Melanie go on a long weekend to a cabin in the woods and a Syrian refugee ends up moving in with them.

Channel 4 has recently announced that they have recommissioned Home and will be making a second series.

In other news CBS is reported to be adapting the BBC One hit sitcom Ghosts.
