Edinburgh Fringe Interview: Rarely Asked Questions – Georgie Morrel

6. What do your parents think of your job?

Haven't told them.

7. What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?

"Tell us a joke?" from anyone when I am not working.  I don't ask accountants to do my accounts randomly in the pub!  I can firmly say all comedians will agree with me on this.

8. I think you are very good at what you do (that’s why I’m asking these questions). What do you think of you?

I consider myself the next Princess Diana. The world simply doesn't deserve me.

9. How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?

Not enough and ALL the money.

10. How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?

I've noticed that the hardest working people get lucky so when I have worked hard, I've been lucky. #Deep.

11. Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into a third category?

Golfer. Except I hate golf.

12. Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?

The chap who re heels my shoes.  He is friendly and genuine and the heel tips on my stilettos are done to perfection.

13. Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not? (please think long and hard about this question, it's to settle an argument with my girlfriend. The future of our relationship could depend on your response).

I keep them tidy because I am a grown-up who likes to be able to find things.  Now go tidy your drawers, Bruce!

Georgie Morrell: Eyecon is at the Gilded Balloon from July 31 - August 26. Tickets and details here.
