There have been reports of a shooting at a house in Essex owned by Russell Kane and reportedly rented out.

According to a story in the local Ilford Recorder a man in his forties was shot a number of times. Neighbours are said to have heard the noise and thought it was fireworks.

The incident has no connection to comedian Kane. He is reported to be the owner of the house but has lived in the north of England for some time now and neighbours say the house currently has tenants.

Police were called to the property in Woodford Green on Thursday night.
